New Delhi, November 14, 2024 - Modi Government 3.0 has taken drastic steps to ensure punctuality in government offices. The Ministry of Personnel (DOPT) recently issued a new order asking all government employees to follow self-discipline.
It clearly states that employees can reach the office with a maximum delay of 15 minutes, with a special warning given to employees who are habitually late.
It is now mandatory for all central employees across the country to reach office on time and maintain biometric attendance. The government has issued orders that all employees should report their attendance by 9:15 am.
After the coronavirus pandemic, many government employees had stopped marking attendance in the biometric system, due to which attendance problems has reportedly increased. Under this new system, now everyone will have to punch in the biometric system regularly so that transparency regarding attendance can be created.
According to the new instructions of the DoPT, if a government employee does not reach the office by 9:15 am, he will be charged for half a day.
The government has made it clear that if for any reason it is not possible to come to the office on a particular day, the employee has to be informed in advance.
Along with this, it is mandatory to apply for leave in case of emergency. The charge of all departments will now strictly enforce the punctual attendance and movement of their employees.
