AAP's Dr. Ishaank Kumar wins Chabbewal by-poll

Hoshiarpur (Punjab), November 23, 2024: In the Chabbewal Vidhan Sabha bypoll, the Aam Aadmi Party candidate Dr. Ishank Kumar won the election by getting 51904 votes.
The counting started at 8 am in the local Rahat Bahra Group of the institute for total 15 rounds after completion of counting Aam Aadmi Party'c candidate was announced winning candidate.
Election observer IAS officer Tapas Kumar Bagchi, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal and Returning Officer Rahul Chaba handed over the certificate to Dr. Ishank Kumar.
Returning officer Rahul Chaba stated that of total votes polled on November 20, the AAP candidate got total 51904 while the Indian National Congress candidate Ranjit Kumar secured 23214 votes whereas the BJP candidate Sohan Singh Thandal received 8692 votes.
Similarly, the Samaj Bhalai Morcha candidate Davinder Kumar Saroya got 307 votes, and independent candidates Davinder Singh Ghera and Rohit Kumar Tinku received 307 and 226 votes respectively besides 884 votes to NOTA. Pertinently, 53.43 percent votes were polled during the byelection held on November 20, 2024.
