Moga (Punjab), November 30, 2024: Dal Khalsa has resolved to hold a convention to bring Sikh factions representing both moderate and Hardliner streams together on one platform to formulate a new strategy to deal with challenges being faced by Sikh people globally and to take the Sikh struggle for rights, justice and independence to its logical conclusion.
Th convention will be held on December 5 at Windsor Garden, Moga, in which the parties actively working on Panthic turf will present Sikh viewpoints on issues ranging from targeted killings of Khalistani activists to denial of rights and justice in this Hindutva dominated country led by ultra-nationalist right-wing BJP.
The announcement was made by the party's working president Paramjit Singh Mand, Political Affairs Secretary Kanwar Pal Singh, vice-president Hardeep Singh Mehraj and secretary Jasvir Singh Khandoor at a press conference here today.
They said that the violent transnational repression policy to target pro-freedom Sikhs by extrajudicial methods is in place despite it being exposed at the international level and condemned by a five-eye alliance named US, UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
Reiterating the importance of the convention, Mand said that the Sikhs as a community will have to take a decision as to how long they will continue to tolerate the targeted killing of Sikhs in Punjab and abroad. How long they will allow the Indian rulers to divide the people of Punjab in the name of religion, caste, and race.
Expressing solidarity with Kisan organizations for waging a struggle against Modi government to get their rights and supporting Morcha at Mohali for the release of Bandi Singh, the leaders all sections of Punjab society are on streets against Delhi rulers as latter has adopted stubborn attitude towards their rightful demands. They gave a clarion call to all struggling sections to unite on single platform as “our oppressor is the same”.
They said India's Deep State is hell-bent to create divisions, confusions and between all struggling people so that they could remain divided and scattered against Delhi’s authoritarian regime.
On Akal Takhat to pronounce religious tankah to Akali Dal leaders including its former president Sukhbir Singh Badal, Kanwar Pal Singh said Takhat Jathedars need to satisfy the collective conscience of Panth as Akalis in their lust for power and privileges have ruined Panthic institutions, undermined Akal Takhat and made SGPC its subservient.
“Nature of Punishment from Takhat should set precedent so that no Akali leader can dare to make mockery of Panth and damage its institutions in future”.
Commenting on the traditional reactions of the Sikh leadership, he said that whenever the government of Delhi bullies or abuses the Sikhs religiously, culturally, politically or economically, the leaders of the Sikh organizations say that this incident has realized the Sikhs they were slaves in India.
They questioned those Sikh leaders who are at the helm of affairs that how long will the Sikhs continue to tolerate the desecration of Guru Granth and the insult of Guru Panth in this country.
