GNDU secures second runners-up trophy in Punjab State Inter-University Youth Festival 2024

Amritsar (Punjab), December 4, 2024: Guru Nanak Dev University has brought laurels to the state by securing the Second Runners-Up Trophy in the Punjab State Inter-University Youth Festival 2024.
The festival was organized by the Directorate of Youth Services, Government of Punjab, at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
Dr. Amandeep Singh, In-charge, Youth Welfare said that a total of 17 universities from Punjab participated in the festival. While Punjab University, Chandigarh, clinched the Overall Champion Trophy, Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara, secured the First Runners-Up position. GNDU's contingent, comprising over 200 students and accompanying faculty from various colleges, showcased their talent in 45 different items. The university's stellar performance led to numerous accolades:
GNDU won various positions in this festival includes; First Positions: Classical Instrumental (Percussion), Gazal, Rangoli, On-the-Spot Painting, Kadhai Phulkari, Mime, Second Positions: Jhoomer, Gidha, Bhand, Folk Song (Punjabi), Classical Vocal Solo, Vaar Gayan, Classical Instrumental (Non-Percussion), Luddi, Group Shabad, Pakhi Bunana, Kavishri, Kali, Third Positions: Collage Making, On-the-Spot Photography, Nukard Natak, On-the-Spot Photography.
Prof. (Dr.) Palwinder Singh (Dean, Academic Affairs), Prof. (Dr.) K.S. Kahlon (Registrar), and Prof. (Dr.) Preet Mohinder Singh Bedi (Dean, Students Welfare), along with other faculty members, warmly welcomed the Runners-Up Trophy to the university and extended their congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding achievements.The principals and faculty of the participating colleges also expressed their gratitude to the winners and participants.
