Prashashan Gaon Ki Aur: Ferozepur workshop highlights good governance initiatives
Ferozepur, December 23, 2024: As part of the nationwide campaign ‘Prashashan Gaon Ki Aur’ and the Punjab Government’s ‘Good Governance Week’ (December 19–24), a workshop was held at the District Administrative Complex under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner Development (ADC-D) Lakhwinder Singh Randhawa. DDF Aditi Sharma and officials from various departments participated in the event.
ADC Randhawa emphasised the need to resolve public grievances and extend government services efficiently through special camps in sub-divisions during ‘Sushasan Saptah.’ He highlighted the importance of ensuring that border villages, including those along the Sutlej River, benefit from education, healthcare, and other government schemes.
Deputy District Education Officer Dr Satinder Singh shared achievements in education, including infrastructure development and free education initiatives. He noted that government school students excel in academics and sports, enhancing the district’s reputation.
District Family Welfare Officer Dr Mandeep Kaur presented efforts by the health department, including maternal and child healthcare, vaccination drives, and control measures for diseases like dengue, malaria, TB, and jaundice. She also discussed targets achieved under various government health schemes.
Other departments, including Women and Child Development and Sewa Kendra, showcased public welfare and development work through video and PPT presentations. These included services provided during Good Governance Week and strategies for the future.
The workshop underscored the commitment to strengthening governance and improving public service delivery, particularly in border areas. Officials like Secretary Red Cross Ashok Bahl and District Epidemiologist Dr Yuvraj Narang also contributed insights to the event.
The initiative highlighted the collaborative efforts of various departments to ensure responsive governance and the well-being of residents in Ferozepur and beyond.
