The event saw participation from protestors and devotees from nearby villages. Farmer leaders extended greetings to the nation and urged everyone to follow the path shown by Guru Sahib.
During a press briefing, farmer leaders condemned the central government’s stance on the ongoing farmers’ struggle and expressed concerns over the health of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on an indefinite hunger strike.
Addressing the controversial Agricultural Marketing Draft Policy issued by the central government, leaders highlighted how it undermines the interests of farmers by reintroducing elements of the repealed "black laws" through new loopholes.
The leaders announced a nationwide protest on January 13, Lohri, where copies of the draft policy will be burned. Additionally, on January 10, symbolic effigies of Prime Minister Modi will be torched across the country to protest the government’s disregard for farmers' issues.
