Advocate Writes to HHRC Chairperson and Members for Secretary Rank IAS Posting
Chandigarh, January 9, 2025: Advocate Hemant Kumar has formally appealed to Justice Lalit Batra (Retd.), Chairperson of the Haryana Human Rights Commission (HHRC), and its members, urging the appointment of an IAS officer of Secretary rank as the Commission's Secretary, in accordance with Section 27(1)(a) of the Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.
Kumar noted that the current appointee, Anish Yadav (IAS, 2014 batch), serving in a junior administrative grade, does not fulfill the statutory requirement. Highlighting previous similar violations, Kumar stressed the importance of strict adherence to the law, citing that IAS officers with at least 16 years of service qualify for Secretary rank.
The advocate emphasized the urgency for corrective measures to ensure lawful governance and has requested acknowledgment of his representation.
