Four Former High Court Judges Designated as Senior Advocates by Supreme Court

New Delhi, January 23, 2025 – The Supreme Court of India has conferred the senior advocate designation on four former High Court judges, recognizing their distinguished contributions to the judiciary.
The former judges who have been elevated to the senior designation include:
- Justice Rajesh Bindal, former Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court.
- Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, former judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court.
- Justice Vivek Agarwal, former judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
- Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra, former judge of the Uttarakhand High Court.
The decision was taken in a full-court meeting presided over by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud. The designation of senior advocate is a prestigious recognition given to legal professionals for their expertise, experience, and exemplary service in the field of law.
This move underscores the Supreme Court's commitment to acknowledging the invaluable contributions of former judges to India's legal landscape.
