Ferozepur Police busts two criminal networks; seizes illegal weapons, heroin

Ferozepur, February 7, 2025: In a breakthrough, the Special Investigation Team (CIA Staff) of Ferozepur Police conducted a raid on February 6, leading to the seizure of illegal arms and ammunition. The operation resulted in the recovery of 520 grams of commercial quantity heroin, one .9mm Glock pistol, and one country-made weapon (Desi Katta).
Addressing the media, SSP Saumyua Mishra stated that the police are making all possible efforts to curb criminal activities. As part of this initiative, As part of this initiative, the CIA team headed by Randhir Kumar, SP(I) along with Fateh Singh Brar, DSP(D), CIA Incharge Mohit Dhawan, arrested three individuals and recovered 520 grams of commercial quantity of heroin, a 9mm Glock pistol, and a Verna car.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Amandeep Singh alias Amna, son of Harbans Singh, Dilpreet Singh, son of Sarabjit Singh (resident of Mansoordev, Zira), and Gurjant Singh alias Janta, son of Joginder Singh (Resident of Karampurwala, Ghall Khurd, Ferozepur).
Police revealed that Dilpreet Singh has multiple previous criminal cases registered against him.
Divulging with more details about busting the smuggling operation, SSP said, in a separate case, the police arrested Amandeep Singh alias Aman, son of Rachhpal Singh, a resident of Bajidpur, Ferozepur. He was found in possession of six illegal 32-bore pistols, six magazines, and eight live cartridges.
She further said, during interrogation, it was revealed that Amandeep had earlier attacked a woman and her family in 2023, for which a case was already registered against him. Police suspect that he was planning another attack and intended to sell the illegal weapons. Furthermore, he was allegedly forming a local gang to carry out robberies and snatching incidents.
SSP said the FIRs have been lodged under relevant sections at Makhu Police Station and Kulgarhi Police Station. Investigations are underway to determine the source and intended buyers of the seized weapons and heroin. Police anticipate further revelations in the coming days.
SSP Mishra reiterated that such anti-crime operations will continue to dismantle criminal networks and ensure public safety.
