Faridkot, March 4, 2025: The Punjab Government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's leadership, is taking large-scale action to combat drugs and anti-social elements. Commissioner Faridkot Division, Manjit Singh Brar, and Deputy Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur visited the Drug De-addiction Centre/OAT Clinic at Civil Hospital Faridkot.
Commissioner Manjit Singh Brar emphasized the government's commitment to eradicating drugs and rehabilitating victims. He stressed the need for societal cooperation to treat and mainstream drug victims successfully ¹.
Deputy Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur appealed to drug addicts to seek treatment at de-addiction centers/OAT clinics, which provide free treatment under specialist doctors' supervision while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Chander Shekhar Kakkar reported that approximately 1,200 drug patients are screened daily in Faridkot district, with 12,626 registered drug addicts receiving free treatment at 14 OAT centers and two de-addiction centers.
Assistant Commissioner (G) Madam Tushita Gulati, SMO Dr. Paramjit Singh Brar, Dr. Sarbdeep Singh Romana, Sunil Kumar, Kuldeep Singh Pharmacist, Santosh Kumar along with staff of Oat Centre, Hospital were present.
