Mark Carney sworn-in as Canada's new PM, unveils 'smaller' Cabinet; View list

Ottawa [Canada], March 15, 2025: Canada's Liberal Party leader Mark Carney was on Friday sworn in as the new Prime Minister of the country. Canada’s newly appointed Prime Minister, Mark Carney, took the oath of office alongside members of the 30th Canadian Ministry.
Governor General Mary Simon presided over the ceremony, which also saw Carney reveal 23 cabinet ministers – a much smaller group than Trudeau’s cabinet, which had 39 members, including him.
"Canada, meet your new cabinet. We’ve built a smaller, focused, and experienced team that is made to meet this moment," posted PM Mark Carney on his X account.
This streamlined and purpose-driven Cabinet comprises returning ministers, experienced leaders, and fresh voices, all bringing innovative ideas and perspectives. Their collective focus is on addressing key priorities for Canadians, including bolstering the nation’s economy and security.
