Baloch (Pakistan), March 16, 2025: A massive suicide attack targeted a Pakistani military convoy in the Noshki region on Sunday, with the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claiming responsibility.
According to the insurgent group, 90 Pakistani soldiers were killed when their convoy, consisting of eight buses, was ambushed. However, Pakistani military sources have officially confirmed only seven deaths. The attack, carried out by BLA’s Majeed Brigade and Fateh Squad,
reportedly involved a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) that rammed into the convoy, causing a devastating explosion.
According to local police officer Zafarullah Sulemani, the evidence collected from the site suggests it was a suicide bombing. He also noted that the death toll may rise as several soldiers are critically injured.
BLA’s statement claimed that all eight buses carrying Pakistani military personnel were destroyed in the blast. Following the explosion, BLA fighters allegedly executed surviving soldiers.
While the Pakistani military has downplayed the casualties, the scale of the attack highlights the growing insurgency in Balochistan.
