Ludhiana (Punjab), March 26, 2025: Acting swiftly on reports of suspected unreported dengue cases in parts of the city, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora urged the Municipal Corporation (MC) to initiate an early fogging campaign to curb mosquito breeding.
Initially, MC Commissioner expressed reluctance, citing the need for authorization from the Civil Surgeon’s office. However, Arora escalated the matter to the Ludhiana Civil Surgeon, who promptly directed the MC to begin fogging as a preventive step against dengue, malaria, and chikungunya.
Following the directive, municipal teams deployed 20 fogging machines and began operations in multiple areas.Typically, fogging starts in late June or early July before the monsoon, but this year, the campaign was launched ahead of schedule as a precautionary measure.
“This initiative was the need of the hour to curb potential dengue cases,” Arora stated, emphasizing the importance of proactive action in safeguarding public health.
