  Haryana Govt approves Rs 2.65 crore project to resolve waterlogging, salinity issues in Prithla

  Chandigarh, March 27, 2025 – Haryana Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Smt. Shruti Choudhry announced that a Rs. 2.65 crore project has been approved to tackle waterlogging and saline groundwater issues in several villages of the Prithla Assembly Constituency.
  
  Responding to a question in the Vidhan Sabha Budget Session, Minister Choudhry stated that farming has become impossible in villages like Bhanakpur, Nagla Jogian, Kabulpur Bangar, Mahola, and Laudiyapur due to excessive salinity and stagnant water.
  
  Key Highlights of the Project:
  - 20 Shallow Tubewells with Solar Panels: These will be installed to drain excess water from affected fields.
  - Water Diversion Strategy:
    
    Water from Sikrona, Kabulpur Bangar, Mahola, Laudiyapur, and Firozpur Kalan will be directed to the Kabulpur Link Drain.
    
    Water from Harphola, Mahola, and Bhanakpur will be channeled into the Gonchi Drain.
    
    Water from Seharla village will be diverted to the Seharla Drain in Faridabad district.
  - Project Timeline:
    
    Work will begin after the April 2025 harvest.
    
    Expected completion by July 30, 2025.
  Minister Choudhry emphasized that this initiative will restore agricultural viability in the region, benefiting local farmers and mitigating long-standing water management challenges.
