Justice Harsh Bangar visits Central Jail Ferozepur, inaugurates Women’s Tailoring Course
Ferozepur, March 28, 2025: Justice Harsh Bangar of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, who also serves as the Administrative Judge for the Sessions Division, Ferozepur, visited the Central Jail Ferozepur today. During his visit, he interacted with inmates, reviewed prison facilities, and inaugurated a tailoring course for women prisoners.
The visit was attended by District and Sessions Judge Virinder Aggarwal, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Ferozepur)\, Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, Chief Judicial Magistrate Anuradha, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Ferozepur), Jail Superintendent Satnam Singh, Additional Superintendent Gurmeet Singh, along with other jail officials and staff.
Justice Bangar inspected various sections of the jail, listened to the grievances of inmates, and examined items produced in the jail factory. He also visited the women’s ward, where he addressed concerns raised by female inmates. In a significant step towards rehabilitation, he inaugurated a tailoring course for women prisoners, launched in collaboration with Punjab National Bank Rural Self-Employment Training Institute, Zira. Five sewing machines were provided to trained inmates with the support of the district administration.
Further, Justice Bangar distributed reading glasses among prisoners and inspected the jail kitchen, assessing the quality of food being prepared.
