Ferozepur Shines at State-Level Cub Bulbul Festival, Wins overall trophy
Ferozepur, March 28, 2025: Under the annual program of Bharat Scouts and Guides Punjab, a state-level Cub Bulbul Festival was successfully organized at Government Primary Smart School, Toot, in Ferozepur district. The event was held under the guidance of State Organizing Commissioner Onkar Singh, District Education Officer (Elementary Education) Sunita Rani, District Scout Secretary Sukhwinder Singh, and Block Primary Education Officer Sumandeep Kaur. The festival was led by School Head Poonam Rani and District Organizing Commissioner Charanjit Singh.

The closing ceremony was graced by prominent dignitaries, including Dr. Sukhbir Singh Ball, State Chief Commissioner (Scouts); Beant Singh Hakumatwala, Chairman of the Market Committee, Ferozepur Cantt; Sant Baba Bohar Singh Ji of Chappar Sahib Gurdwara; Neeta Kashyap, State Organizing Commissioner (Punjab); Sukhwinder Singh, District Scout Secretary; Satinder Singh, Deputy District Education Officer (Secondary Education); and Komal Arora, Deputy District Education Officer (Primary Education). They encouraged the participating students and appreciated their performances.
On behalf of MLA (Rural) Advocate Rajneesh Dahiya, his wife Sudesh Rani welcomed teams from various districts. The MLA also sent refreshments and best wishes for the students.
Jaswinder Pal Singh and Rachhpal Singh informed that 203 participants from eight districts of Punjab took part in the camp. Apart from scouting activities, competitions such as folk songs, folk dance, rangoli, painting, paper cutting, rural games (lemon race, back race, sack race, three-legged race), village fair, and exhibitions were organized.
In the sequential group competitions, Ferozepur secured the first position in the folk dance competition, followed by Fazilka and Bathinda in second place and Fatehgarh Sahib in third. In the folk song competition, Ferozepur won first place, Bathinda secured second, and Fazilka took third.
For the district exhibition category, Ferozepur bagged the first position, followed by Fazilka and Faridkot in second and third places, respectively. In the Jungle Play competition, Ferozepur claimed first place, Fazilka took second, and Faridkot came third. The storytelling competition saw Fazilka winning first place, Ferozepur securing second, and Faridkot taking third.
Government Primary School Bootewala, led by Head Teacher Monika Chaudhary and her staff, also organized an FLN (Foundational Literacy and Numeracy) fair during the event.
