Fencing at some portions of Indo-Pak Border to be shifted 9 kilometers: Punjab Governor
Chandigarh, April 1, 2025 – Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria announced that the central government has approved the shifting of border fencing by about 9 kilometers at certain locations to benefit farmers. Funds for the project have also been sanctioned, and the work is expected to commence soon, he said during a press conference on Monday.
Governor Kataria said the decision aims to address long-standing concerns of farmers whose agricultural lands fall beyond the existing fencing. The move is expected to provide them with easier access to their fields, ensuring better agricultural productivity.
