Cyclathon for Environment: 250 Cyclists ride 12 km in Ferozepur to promote green awareness in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, April 2, 2025: In a major initiative to promote environmental awareness and sustainable living, Mayank Foundation successfully organized the ‘Cyclathon for Environment’ under its Environment Education Programme. The event saw enthusiastic participation from 250 cyclists, including Indian Army personnel and various cycling groups, who covered a 12-kilometer stretch to advocate for a cleaner and greener future.
The event was flagged off by the GOC of the Golden Arrow Division, adding prestige to the occasion and reinforcing the significance of environmental conservation. Prior to the flag-off, Army officials and Team Mayank Foundation planted saplings, symbolizing their shared commitment to a greener planet.
Organized in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology and the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of India, the initiative aligns with national efforts to promote environmental sustainability and encourage responsible stewardship of nature.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Sharma, Founder of Mayank Foundation, highlighted the importance of community-driven efforts in addressing environmental challenges. He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to conservation through awareness campaigns, plantation drives, and educational programs.
