HC grants anticipatory bail to Inspector Rauni Singh in Colonel Pushpinder Bath Assault Case

Chandigarh, April 2, 2025 – The Punjab and Haryana High Court today granted anticipatory bail to Inspector Rauni Singh in the Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath assault case, staying his arrest for three days while directing him to seek anticipatory bail from the trial court within the same time.
Senior Advocate Vinod Ghai represented the petitioner, presenting arguments in favor of anticipatory bail. Advocate Bisman Mann, appearing for Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath, pointed out that a similar matter was pending before another bench led by Justice Sandeep Moudgil. However, the court clarified that the current case was marked for hearing under the directions of the Chief Justice.
Observing that the injuries sustained in the scuffle were not life-threatening, the court disposed of the petition while granting temporary protection from arrest to Rauni Singh. The legal proceedings in the case remain ongoing.
Advocate GS Ghuman and GPS Ghuman, representing accused in this case, informed that as per the directions of the High Court, they would approach the lower court now.
