Vicky Middukhera's family files appeal in High Court against acquittal of accused

Chandigarh, April 2, 2025 – An appeal has been filed in the High Court by the family of Youth Akali Dal leader Vicky Middukhera challenging the acquittal of three accused in Vicky's murder case.
Vicky's brother Ajaypal Singh Middukhera, the applicant-appellant, has moved against the judgment dated January 24, 2025, passed by the Additional Sessions Judge, SAS Nagar, which acquitted Kaushal, Amit Dagar, and Bhupinder Singh alias Bhupi Rana.
The accused were facing charges under Sections 302 (murder), 34 (common intention), 120B (criminal conspiracy), and 482 of the Indian Penal Code, along with provisions of the Arms Act, including Sections 25, 54, and 59.However, the trial court found them not guilty, leading to the present appeal. Further proceedings in the case are awaited.
Notably, the Additional District and Sessions Judge Baljinder Singh Sran had sentenced three sharpshooters to life imprisonment in the Vicky Middukhera murder case.
In addition to the life sentence, the court had also imposed a fine of ₹2 lakh on each convict.
