Kaithal, April 10, 2025:
Khalistani terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) carried out an attack on the Azimgarh Police Post in Haryana’s Kaithal district. Haryana Police has now confirmed that an attack indeed took place and explosive material was recovered from the scene. However, the police have denied reports of a grenade attack, stating that the explosives appear to be locally manufactured.
The responsibility for the attack was claimed on social media by BKI-linked terrorists Happy Passian, Gopi Nawanshahria, and Mannu Agwan. Following this, Haryana Police registered an FIR against the trio at Guhla Police Station.
Initial Denial, Now Confirmation
It’s worth noting that the incident made headlines on April 6, 2025, after a video went viral on social media capturing the sound of an explosion near the police post. At the time, police had issued a statement denying any grenade or explosive attack.
However, after investigation, the police have now acknowledged that an attack did take place, and some explosive substances were recovered during the probe. A forensic examination of the materials is underway.
Terrorists Booked
The police have registered a case under serious charges against the three BKI-linked suspects. All three have been previously involved in anti-national activities and are already on the radar of police forces across several states.
Security Beefed Up at Police Posts
Following the attack, security has been heightened at other police posts and stations across the state. Intelligence agencies remain on high alert regarding Khalistani network activities in Haryana. Security forces suspect that this attack could have been a trial run for a larger conspiracy.
Political Turmoil
The incident has triggered political unrest in the state. The opposition has questioned the government over law and order, demanding answers as to how such a lapse occurred despite prior alerts regarding Khalistani activities.
The attack has raised concerns about the functioning of Haryana Police and intelligence agencies. Investigative teams are now focusing on identifying local support and tracing the broader network involved in the attack.
