Special day-night sweeping campaign transforms cleanliness across Ferozepur distt
Ferozepur, April 10, 2025: Special morning and night sweeping initiatives are being undertaken across the towns and villages of Ferozepur district to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment for residents, under guidance of Deputy Commissioner Dipshikha Sharma.
In line with the directives of the Punjab government, municipal councils and panchayats have deployed dedicated teams to conduct sweeping operations during morning and night hours. These efforts include cleaning streets, maintaining sewage systems, addressing streetlight issues, and collecting and disposing of waste effectively.
Key urban and commercial areas such as Ferozepur, Zira, Talwandi Bhai, Guru Har Sahai, Mallanwala, Makhu, Mamdot, and Mudki are receiving focused attention. Night sweeping specifically targets the prompt removal of waste generated in commercial zones overnight, ensuring a clean atmosphere for shopkeepers and residents by morning.
In addition, the staff from municipal councils and panchayats are raising awareness about cleanliness surveys and encouraging feedback from citizens. They are also educating locals on maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings and segregating household waste.
DC Sharma has appealed to all residents of Ferozepur district to support this special campaign by ensuring cleanliness in their surroundings, segregating waste, handing it over to designated sanitation workers, and refraining from practices like burning waste or littering public spaces.
