MP Arora urges women to lead with confidence across country
Ludhiana, April 10, 2025: MP (Rajya Sabha) Sanjeev Arora presided over the convocation ceremony of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women on Thursday.
In his address, Arora congratulated the graduating students and awardees. A total of 500 students received their degrees, while 10 students were honoured with the Roll of Honour, 3 students received the College Colour, and 40 students were awarded Merit Certificates.
Encouraging the students, Arora urged them to make the most of the education and knowledge they had acquired and to actively contribute to society rather than remain idle at home. He emphasized that women are capable of achieving success in any field, and that the nation’s progress depends significantly on equal participation of women alongside men.
Highlighting opportunities within the country, Arora advised the youth not to focus solely on settling abroad. “Today, India offers more opportunities than many foreign nations. In fact, we are seeing a trend of people returning home after facing limited prospects abroad,” he remarked.
He also lauded the college and its management for their commitment to providing quality education and promoting the holistic development of students. He praised the institution for fostering women empowerment through academic excellence and extracurricular engagement, grounded in strong moral values.
Arora announced Rs.10 lakh for expansion of the college building in the future.
Those present at the event included College Management President Nand Kumar Jain, Principal Sarita Bahl, and Municipal Councillor Nandani Jairath.
