District presidents being empowered: Raja Warring
Congress reaffirms commitment to MSP legal guarantee
Condemns killing of Punjab Police SI by AAP sarpanch
Chandigarh, April 10, 2025:
Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today said that the district presidents of the party across the country were being empowered further and will soon have their say in selection of candidates for elections.
Warring also condemned the brutal murder of a Punjab Police Sub Inspector allegedly by a Sarpanch belonging to the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Tarn Taran.
In an informal conversation with reporters after returning from-two days AICC session held in Ahmedabad, Warring said here today that the Congress party had passed a special resolution reaffirming its resolve to provide legal guarantee on MSP on various crops.
Elaborating about the role of the district presidents, he disclosed that they will be empowered more and will also be made responsible for various party activities. “What is more important is that they will also have a say in the selection of candidates for the elections”, he emphasized.
The PCC president expressed confidence that the Congress was on a comeback and soon there will be many surprises across the country. He asserted that Punjab will lead from the front where the party will stage an impressive comeback.
“The writing is on the wall”, he remarked, while claiming, “talk to anybody across Punjab, and the only thing you will hear is that Congress will form the next government here”.
The Ludhiana MP alleged that the AAP had not only turned the state bankrupt, but had pushed it into lawlessness. He referred to the recent grenade attack on a BJP leader’s house in Jalandhar, killing of a cop by the AAP sarpanch and the frequent ransom calls made by gangsters to businessmen across the state. “People just want to get rid of this government, sooner the better”, he remarked.
