High alert in Dabwali after Babbar Khalsa threat; security tightened at police check posts

Sirsa (Haryana), April 12, 2025: Following a threat from the terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa regarding a grenade attack on a police checkpost, the Dabwali region of Sirsa district has been placed on high alert.
With Dabwali bordering Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan, security has been significantly ramped up, and all police stations and outposts have been put on alert mode.
Sirsa Superintendent of Police, Siddhant Jain, informed that additional police forces have been deployed at all border-adjacent stations and checkposts. Personnel have been equipped with advanced weaponry to respond promptly in case of any emergency.
Increased Vigilance at Border Areas
In view of the threat, SP Jain confirmed heightened surveillance at police posts located along the Punjab border. Intelligence networks have also been activated in border villages to detect any suspicious activity at the earliest.
Round-the-Clock Alertness Ordered
Police officers have been instructed to remain on 24-hour alert and immediately report any unusual activity to senior officials. This proactive approach aims to ensure no lapse in security.
Why Dabwali is at Risk
Dabwali shares its border with Punjab’s Bathinda and Malout, making it a strategically sensitive area and a potential target for cross-border threats. Authorities are leaving no stone unturned to prevent any terrorist activity.
The police administration has also appealed to the public to report any suspicious objects or individuals immediately to the nearest police station and to avoid spreading rumors.This high-level security arrangement will remain in effect until the situation returns to normal, officials have confirmed.
