Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi pays obeisance at Golden Temple

Amritsar (Punjab), April 13, 2025: Chief of the Indian Army, General Upendra Dwivedi, paid a solemn visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar today, offering prayers and expressing deep reverence.
Accompanied by his wife Sunita Dwivedi, family members, and Major General Karthik C Shadri, the Army Chief bowed at the holy shrine, acknowledging its spiritual significance.
During the visit, Information Officer Randhir Singh briefed General Dwivedi on the Maryada (code of conduct), Sikh traditions, and the historical importance of the sacred places within the complex.The Army Chief also listened to Gurbani Kirtan and paid his respects at Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
As a mark of respect, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) honored General Dwivedi with a model of Sri Harmandir Sahib, a traditional shawl (loyee), and religious literature.
The honors were presented by SGPC Secretary S. Partap Singh and Sri Darbar Sahib General Manager S. Bhagwant Singh Dhingera.
In the visitor's book, General Dwivedi wrote, “Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib is a symbol of eternal faith and unparalleled peace. The selfless service offered here is a true inspiration for all.”
Also present on the occasion were Police Officer S. Harpal Singh Randhawa, Information Officer S. Jatinderpal Singh, S. Satnam Singh, and several other dignitaries.
