By Hardam Maan
Surrey (Canada), April 19, 2025 – As Canada’s federal election gears up, the first day of advance polling saw a steady turnout across the country. Among the early voters was federal NDP leader Jagmeet Singh, who is contesting from the Burnaby South riding. Singh, accompanied by his wife Gurkiran Kaur Sidhu, cast his ballot at the Burnaby-Central Advance Polling Station, located at Burnaby Central Secondary School (6011 Deer Lake Parkway).
Following the vote, Singh urged Canadians to make their voices heard. “It’s important for everyone to get out and vote,” he said, emphasizing the value of early participation in the democratic process.
Jagmeet Singh has represented Burnaby South in Parliament since winning a by-election in February 2019 and is seeking re-election in the upcoming federal contest.
