WAR AGAINST DRUGS
Students join hands in anti-drug drive at Govt. School Jhoke Hari Har
Ferozepur, April 29, 2025: As part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing campaign against drug abuse, a seminar was organised at Government High School, Jhok Hari Har under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Deeptishikha Sharma.
The initiative was led by Muneela Arora, District Education Officer (Secondary Education), Dr. Satinder Singh, Deputy District Education Officer, and Ashwinder Singh, District Nodal Officer (Schools).
The seminar saw active participation from School Headmaster Avtar Singh, the entire teaching staff, and many students. During the session, students were sensitised about the harmful effects of drugs, and a strong appeal was made to create a people’s movement to fight drug abuse in society.
Punjabi Mistress Smt. Neena Kansal addressed the gathering, emphasising the dangerous impact of drugs and encouraging students to stay away from such substances. Students Shama, Virat, and Viyan Bhatti also delivered speeches highlighting the ill effects of drugs and the importance of a drug-free lifestyle.
The school is consistently hosting a range of awareness activities under the anti-drug campaign, including rangoli competitions, poster making, debates, and poetry contests, with enthusiastic participation from students. Prizes were distributed to the winners to further motivate them.
Such initiatives are crucial as children at a tender age can be better moulded and made aware of the dangers of drug addiction, paving the way for a healthier and more informed future generation.
