Chandigarh, May 10, 2025 – Chandigarh Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav has stated that there is no alert or threat perception in the city at present.
However, as a preventive measure, the administration has appealed to residents to stay indoors voluntarily after 9 PM and requested all markets to shut by that time.

He acknowledged the strong support from citizens and shopkeepers the previous night, calling their contribution highly commendable, and extended gratitude on behalf of the administration.
“There is no official order for tonight. We are simply urging voluntary cooperation from the public,” the DC clarified. He added that shops dealing in essential commodities will remain open at all times.
Reassuring citizens, the DC appealed once again not to panic. He also highlighted the enthusiastic response to the Civil Defence volunteer training initiative, with nearly 3,000 applications received. These individuals will undergo training and be deployed for duties as needed.
Additionally, he informed that new sirens will be installed across the city within the next two days. If required, Civil Defence teams may also be assigned the task of delivering ration supplies to households.
