New Gurdwara Sahib established in Barrie, Ontario

Toronto (Canada), June 2, 2025 – In a momentous event for the Sikh community in Canada, a new Gurdwara Sahib, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji, was officially inaugurated today in Barrie, a major city in Ontario province.
The inauguration was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the local Sangat and Gurdwara management.

The ceremony saw the gracious presence of Singh Sahib Giani Balwinder Singh Ji, a respected Granthi from Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Amritsar, who specially traveled for the occasion.
A large number of devotees from across Ontario gathered to participate in the celebrations, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
Prominent Sikh leaders, including Sardar Onkar Singh Grewal, Chairman of the Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwara Council, were present along with several council officials.The heads and members of various Gurdwaras from across the province also attended, reflecting strong unity within the Sikh community.

The Sangat of Barrie was widely praised for their excellent arrangements and hospitality. Notably, Sardar Harpal Singh, President of Ontario Khalsa Darbar (Dixie Road), and his committee extended significant support to ensure the success of the event.
