Congress can't finalize one state leader yet talks national issues: Minister Anil Vij
“Politics is strange – where conflicts begin, compromises are made too,” says Haryana Minister on Congress’s internal rift

Chandigarh, June 2, 2025: Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Anil Vij, took a sharp jab at the Congress party today, questioning its credibility on national matters while it struggles with internal leadership decisions.
Speaking to the media in Chandigarh, Vij said, “Congress talks about major national issues and claims to represent the country’s voice, but they have yet to finalize even the Leader of Opposition in just one of their own party units – in Haryana – even after eight months. That’s quite disappointing.”
He was responding to questions about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Chandigarh and the ongoing meetings within the Haryana Congress unit.
Vij added, “So many meetings have taken place, and yet they remain undecided. Maybe Rahul Gandhi is visiting just to resolve this issue in Haryana.”
Commenting on reports of infighting within the state Congress, Vij quipped, “Politics is a very strange thing – it’s the same place where people fight, and also the same place where compromises are arranged. Congress is a living example of this paradox.”
Vij’s remarks come at a time when the Haryana Congress continues to remain in disarray over leadership roles, despite gearing up for the upcoming electoral challenges.
