Railway earns ₹3.04 Crore from ticket checking in Ferozepur Division in May
Ferozepur, June 2, 2025: The Ferozepur Division of Indian Railways has reported revenue of ₹3.04 crore in May 2025 from intensive ticket-checking drives aimed at curbing ticketless and irregular travel.
A total of 42,322 passengers were found travelling without tickets or with irregular tickets during the month, resulting in substantial fines. The division had been set a revenue target of ₹2.79 crore for ticket checking by the Head Office; however, through the dedicated efforts of the ticket checking staff and Chief Ticket Inspectors, the target was surpassed by 9 per cent.
In addition to ticket-checking drives, railway authorities also carried out anti-littering checks at key stations across the division. These efforts led to the recovery of over ₹56,000 in fines from 359 passengers in April 2025 for littering in station premises under the Anti-Littering Act.
Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Sanjay Sahu emphasised that ticket checking campaigns will continue, with the ultimate goal of achieving zero ticketless travel in the division. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini reiterated that travelling without a valid ticket or with an irregular ticket is a punishable offense and urged passengers to always carry a valid travel ticket.
