Punjab's Anti-Drug Drive” sees active support across villages
MLA Dahiya leads Anti-Drug Campaign in 6 Ferozepur villages, urges community vigilance
Ferozepur, June 4, 2025: In a significant step towards a drug-free Punjab, the government’s awareness campaign is receiving overwhelming support from residents. Local MLA Rajneesh Kumar Dahiya, speaking at events held in six villages—Ferozeshah, Ittan Wali, KarmuWala, Betu Kadeem, Bodal, and Chak Khundar—highlighted the progress of the campaign under the state’s “War Against Drugs” initiative.
MLA Dahiya emphasised that the government’s direct outreach to communities is playing a crucial role in eliminating drug abuse and rehabilitating affected youth, enabling them to lead healthier lives. He urged village panchayats to ensure addicts are admitted to government-run de-addiction centres for proper treatment.
Residents were also urged not to support drug traffickers in any way and to promptly report any related activities to the police. Dahiya led the community in pledging that no one would tolerate or assist drug dealers in the villages.
The events were attended by Harman Sidhu, coordinator of the anti-drug campaign in the constituency, administrative officials, Aam Aadmi Party leaders and workers, as well as sarpanches, panches, members of village security committees, and a large number of residents.
