Chandigarh, June 5, 2025: Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has strongly criticized both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for politicizing the recently conducted ‘Operation Sindoor’, accusing both parties of using the military's success for political gain.
In a sharp statement issued today, Warring alleged that both BJP and AAP were “two sides of the same coin” and indulging in "petty politics" over a matter of national pride.
“BJP is trying to claim credit for the bravery of our soldiers, while AAP is irresponsibly questioning the success of the mission,” he said.
Targeting the BJP, Warring said, “Operation Sindoor is not Operation Lotus,” referring to the BJP’s alleged attempts to topple governments using political defection. He further added, “We do acknowledge your dirty skills that you employ during Operation Lotus, but please, for the sake of the dignity of our Defence Forces, do not try to take credit for their victories.”
The Congress leader also condemned Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s remarks reportedly casting doubts on the success of Operation Sindoor.
“You have every right to question the BJP’s political motives, but do not dare question the capability and sacrifice of our defence forces,” Warring warned.
He emphasized that the military's valour should remain above partisan politics and urged all parties to respect the sanctity and dignity of the armed forces.
