Maharashtra CEO refutes Rahul Gandhi's allegations, says electoral rolls shared twice with all parties

Mumbai (Maharashtra), June 10, 2025: Two days after Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi raised concerns about alleged malpractices and irregularities in the Maharashtra legislative assembly elections, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Maharashtra, has issued a strong rebuttal.
In an official statement released on Monday, the CEO clarified that electoral rolls are shared twice—free of cost—with all recognized political parties, including the Congress.
“Electoral rolls are revised annually through a participatory exercise. During this exercise, the rolls are provided first at the draft stage and again after finalisation,” the statement said, emphasizing that the Congress (INC) received the rolls just like every other party.
The office further noted that this process has been followed consistently in 2009, 2014, 2019, and 2024, and that the Indian National Congress was duly provided with copies each time.
