Haryana CM praises PM Modi's transformative leadership over Congress-era indecisiveness

Chandigarh, June 10, 2025 — Haryana Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, while addressing a press conference on the completion of 11 impactful years of the Modi Government, praised Prime Minister, Narendra Modi's leadership for steering the nation from a time of indecision and inefficiency to an era of dynamic governance, national pride, and global recognition.
He described the last 11 years as the most transformative phase of independent India, where each citizen has felt the presence of a decisive, sensitive, and effective government. Today’s India is led by Vision, Not Vote-Bank Politics, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
The Chief Minister said, while the previous Congress-led governments were often marked by hesitation, weak decision-making and misplaced priorities, Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi gave India a clear vision, a strong direction, and an unwavering commitment to public welfare and nation-first governance.
Before 2014, the country was engulfed in an atmosphere of gloom and distrust. Corruption, and ineffective leadership had blocked our progress. Those days were ruled by fear, nepotism, regionalism, and corruption, there was a complete lack of fair governance.
But under the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s leadership, India witnessed a decisive and transparent administration, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.He said that guided by the principle of ‘Minimum Government–Maximum Governance,’ procedures were simplified and public participation was encouraged.
From Indecision to Global Impact- India Emerges as a World Leader
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that when Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi assumed office in 2014, our economy ranked 11th worldwide.He highlighted how under Prime Minister’s leadership India’s economy rose from the 11th to the 4th largest global economy.
He said that India’s total exports reached $825 billion in 2024–25. Engineering exports grew from $73 billion in 2014–15 to $117 billion in 2024–25. Besides this, Defence exports have risen 34‑fold since 2014, reaching Rs. 23,622 crore in 2024–25, compared to just Rs. 1,521 crore before 2016. In the past 10 fiscal years, India attracted around US $668 billion in FDI, up from US $323 billion during 2000–2014, said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister took strong measures like demonetization to crack down on black money and curb parallel economies. From Chandrayaan to exporting defence equipment, India is setting benchmarks. Under previous governments, such ambition was rarely seen. Today, we are at the frontlines of diplomacy, science, and technology, he said.
PM has taken several bold decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370, GST implementation
The Chief Minister credited this growth to bold decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370, Citizenship Amendment Act, digital and financial reforms, and anti-terror surgical strikes. Cultural pride has also been renewed through monumental steps like the construction of Shri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, he said.
He said that recently, the world’s highest rail bridge, the Chenab Bridge, linked the Kashmir Valley to the rest of the country.The Chief Minister said that after waiting 500 years, the grand Shri Ram Lalla temple was built in Ayodhya, symbolizing our cultural pride and belief.
Furthermore, operation ‘Sindoor,’ the surgical strikes in response to the 2016 Uri attack, and the strong retaliatory strike after the 2019 Pulwama attack, all became possible due to Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s strong leadership and decision-making, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Digital India and Self-Reliance Under PM Modi’s Vision
The Chief Minister outlined how Digital India has reshaped service delivery through platforms like UPI, BHIM. During the COVID-19 crisis, India led the world as a pharma hub and also ensured free vaccination for over 220 crore doses within the country. India now leads from the front on the global stage, be it G20, climate leadership or technological diplomacy. Thanks to India’s initiative at the United Nations, June 21 is now celebrated worldwide as International Yoga Day, an enduring symbol of India’s cultural resurgence, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Empowering the Poor- A Government for Every Citizen
The Chief Minister described Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s development model as a model that is mainly based on the upliftment of the poor, farmers, women, and youth. Over 81 crore people received free ration through PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.
Jal Jeevan Mission delivered clean drinking water to 15 crore rural homes. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana ensured over 4 crore homes for the poor, he shared.
He said that schemes like PM SVANidhi and Stand-Up India empowered small vendors and entrepreneurs, while over 55 crore Jan Dhan accounts and 77 crore Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries are testimony to a government working for every Indian.
Revolution in Agriculture: Farmers at the Core of Governance
The Chief Minister shared that the Prime Minister led Central Government agricultural budget rose from Rs. 27,663 crore in 2013–14 to Rs.1,37,757 crore in 2025–26, a fivefold increase. He shared that under the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana provided Rs. 3.70 lakh crore directly to over 11 crore farmers.
Insurance claims worth Rs. 1.75 lakh crore were disbursed under PM Fasal Bima Yojana. The MSP regime was revised to guarantee 50 percent profit over input costs. Besides this, Dairy and fisheries were prioritized, with a 64 percent increase in milk production, and dramatic growth in exports of honey and processed foods. Solar pumps under PM-KUSUM and digitally linked mandis under e-NAM are revolutionizing rural economies, shared the Chief Minister.
Women at the Forefront of Nation-Building
The Chief Minister emphasized how Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi's governance model has consistently empowered women.
He said that launched from Panipat in 2015, Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign helped correct the declining gender ratio, now improved from 918 to 1020. Over 4.20 crore Sukanya Samriddhi accounts were opened, and 35.38 crore women received Rs.14.72 lakh crore through Mudra loans, he shared.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that women now command roles in politics, thanks to initiatives like the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which reserves one-third seats in legislatures for women. In 2014, representation was below 10 percent in Lok Sabha and State Vidhan Sabha, he said.
Youth and Education: Building an Empowered Generation
Describing youth as the “Amrit Peedhi,” the Chief Minister said that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi has transformed India into the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, with over 1.60 lakh registered start-ups. About 17.60 lakh jobs have emerged from start-ups alone.
With the New Education Policy 2020, India is aligning its education system with global standards. IITs, AIIMS, and IIMs have expanded, and over 1.60 crore youth have been skill-trained under Skill India, said Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
Middle-Class Welfare and Modern Infrastructure
The Chief Minister said that for the middle class, the last 11 years have brought robust progress.Tax rebate was provided for incomes up to Rs. 12.75 lakh. Besides this, Metro networks expanded to 23 cities, and air connectivity was brought to remote regions through UDAN.
Digital health services like e-Sanjeevani conducted over 37 crore teleconsultations. Free COVID treatment and vaccines saved countless lives, he said.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that PM Gati Shakti, Bharatmala, and Sagarmala projects have fast-tracked infrastructure growth, while Vande Bharat trains and 3,600 km of high-speed rail corridors have transformed mobility.
Haryana’s Growth Accelerated Under the Double Engine Government
The Chief Minister highlighted how Haryana has been a direct beneficiary of the Modi Government’s vision. In the past 11 years, PM Modi visited Haryana 14 times, inaugurating key projects like AIIMS Jhajjar, Bima Sakhi, Hisar Airport, and Yamunanagar Thermal Plant.
He said that the state now has 21 approved National Highways, 12 of which are already operational. Solar rooftops under the PM Suryaghar Yojana are powering 17,000 homes in Haryana, with a target of 2 lakh in the coming year, shared Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.
A Decade of Determination, a Vision for 2047
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said, these 11 years of Modi Government have not just transformed India, they have awakened the true potential of its people.
