Haryana appoints new CEO, Joint CEO to lead AI, Clean Air projects

Chandigarh, June 17, 2025 — In a significant move to boost the implementation of cutting-edge technology and environmental initiatives, the Haryana Government has created two new high-level posts—Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Joint Chief Executive Officer (Joint CEO)—for the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) that will oversee the Haryana AI Development Project (HAIDP), the Haryana Clean Air Project for Sustainable Development (HCAPSD), and other externally-aided initiatives.
Senior IAS officer J. Ganesan has been appointed as the CEO of this SPV. He currently holds multiple key positions, including Managing Director, HARTRON, Director General, Housing for All, Chief Administrator, Housing Board, CEO of the Haryana Parivar Pehchan Authority, and Managing Director of HVPN.
He will now take on the additional responsibility of leading the SPV to drive the state’s AI and clean air agendas.Deepak Kumar, HCS, who presently serves as Joint CEO of the Haryana Parivar Pehchan Authority, Panchkula, has been designated as the Joint CEO for the SPV.
The newly created positions are aimed at ensuring efficient coordination, strategic planning, and effective execution of transformative projects that leverage artificial intelligence and sustainable development solutions to improve governance and public well-being in Haryana.
