Chandigarh, June 18, 2025: In a major strike against the banned separatist outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), Punjab Police has arrested Resham Singh, a key operative linked to the pro-Khalistan network.
Acting on secret intelligence, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Mohali carried out the arrest, marking a significant breakthrough in ongoing efforts to curb anti-national activities.
Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrest on social media, identifying Singh as a resident of Hamidi village in Barnala. He had been on the run and was wanted in multiple cases tied to SFJ’s separatist agenda.
Police revealed that Resham Singh was involved in vandalizing a statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Nangal village, Phillaur, earlier this month—an act carried out under the instructions of fugitive SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannu and gangster Surinder Singh Thikriwal.
Singh also painted pro-Khalistan and SFJ graffiti across Patiala, Faridkot, and Jalandhar, aiming to incite communal unrest.
Resham Singh has a history of anti-national activities and has previously been booked under the UAPA in Karnal and Sangrur. A fresh FIR has been registered, and interrogation is underway to uncover deeper SFJ links and operational plans.
Officials say the arrest is part of a broader crackdown on separatist forces trying to destabilize Punjab.
