Chandigarh, July 4, 2025: In a significant reshuffle in the Punjab Cabinet, newly elected MLA from Ludhiana West, Sanjeev Arora, has been inducted as a new minister in the Bhagwant Mann-led government. Arora has been assigned the Industries and NRI Affairs departments.
Previously, the NRI Affairs portfolio was held by Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, who has now resigned from the cabinet. The Industries portfolio, which was earlier under Tarunpreet Singh Sond, has also been transferred to Arora.
With Dhaliwal’s exit, the total number of ministers in the Punjab Cabinet now stands at 16, leaving two ministerial posts still vacant.
The reshuffle aligns with the earlier announcement made by AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal during the by-election campaign, promising to include Arora in the cabinet.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann reaffirmed this last week, confirming Arora’s inclusion in his team. This marks the seventh expansion of the cabinet since the Aam Aadmi Party government took office three years ago.
