Golden Temple receives second bomb threat in 2 days, probe intensifies

Amritsar (Punjab), July 15, 2025 – In a deeply alarming development, Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) has received a second bomb threat via email within 24 hours, sparking heightened security and panic in the area.
According to sources, the threat claimed that pipes filled with RDX explosives would be used to cause an explosion inside the sanctum. While officials have not released the exact contents of the email for security reasons, emergency protocols were immediately activated.
The Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dog units were swiftly deployed to the site. Meanwhile, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Amritsar Police have gone on high alert.
Additional BSF personnel and police commandos have been stationed around the Golden Temple complex. Entry and exit points are under tight surveillance, and all visitors are being strictly screened.
This is the second consecutive day that Sri Harmandir Sahib has been threatened with a bomb via email. The first threat was received on Monday, prompting immediate security measures, which remain in effect.
Authorities are treating the matter with utmost seriousness and have initiated an investigation to trace the origin of the emails. Officials have urged the public to stay calm but vigilant as security agencies continue to monitor the situation closely.
