Railway earns over Rs 7.84 Cr revenue from 1,16,982 ticketless passengers
Ferozepur, July 19, 2025: A special ticket-checking drive, launched by the Ferozepur Division of Northern Railway on April 22, 2025, is continuing successfully with the objective of curbing irregular and ticketless travel among passengers.
Till July 18, 2025, a total of 1,16,982 cases of irregular travel were detected under this campaign, resulting in the recovery of over Rs 7.84 crore in penalties.
Alongside ensuring better facilities for passengers, the division is also making consistent efforts to raise awareness about traveling with valid tickets. This revenue generation is credited to the persistent efforts of the ticket-checking staff and will contribute towards further improving railway services.
Divisional Railway Manager, Sanjay Sahu and Paramdeep Singh Saini, Sr Divisional Commercial Manager, appreciated the efforts of the ticket-checking teams and urged all passengers to ensure they travel only with valid tickets.
