5 licenses suspended, 11 cancelled for violating Human Trafficking Prevention Rules
Ferozepur, July 22, 2025: Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Ferozepur, Damanjit Singh Mann, has taken strict action against consultancy, coaching, IELTS, travel, ticketing, and general sales agent firms operating without valid licenses under the Punjab Prevention of Human Smuggling Act, 2012 and its associated Rules, 2013.
The ADM informed that licenses of 5 firms have been suspended after expiry, while licenses of 11 other firms have been outrightly cancelled for failing to renew within the prescribed time frame despite repeated notices. The firms whose licenses have been suspended include Sachway Immigration & Education Consultants, Power Learn Global Immigration, R.B. IELTS & Immigration Consultants, SICT under BDS Memorial Society, and APT IELTS Institute.
These firms were reminded two months prior to license expiry to submit their renewal applications but neither applied for renewal nor surrendered their expired licenses, violating Section 5(2) of the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act. Hence, under Section 6(e) of the Act, their licenses stand suspended with immediate effect.
Furthermore, licenses of the 11 firms have been cancelled with immediate effect are - M/s Overseas Works Zone, Gobind Nagri, Ferozepur City; M/s IELTS School & Immigration Solutions (I-School), near Dev Samaj College, Ferozepur City; M/s Aspire, Circular Road, near Dev Samaj College, Ferozepur City; Sky Wings Education & Consultants, Ferozepur Road, Mallanwala Khas; M/s Krishna Travels, Dhawan Colony, Ferozepur City; M/s DAGS Education & Immigration, opposite Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Zira; M/s Travel Duniya, opposite Markfed Godown, Mallanwala Road, Ferozepur City; M/s AAA Touchpeak School of IELTS, opposite Bharat Petrol Pump, Makhu Road, Zira; M/s Sunbeam Education & Consultancy Services, New Talwandi Road, opposite HDFC Bank, Zira; M/s Dream Abroad IELTS & Visa Consultancy, opposite Punjab & Sind Bank, Mudki; and M/s The Moga British School of Languages, Subhash Colony, Zira.
The ADM clarified that these firms were given opportunities to respond but failed to do so, indicating non-compliance. Hence, their licenses have been cancelled under Section 6(1)(e) of the Punjab Travel Professionals Regulation Act. These firms will remain responsible for any complaints or liabilities arising under the provisions of the said Act and Rules.
