Heroin smuggler using Pak drone held in Ferozepur, ANTF recovers consignment
Ferozepur, July 22, 2025: In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Punjab Police has arrested a drug smuggler involved in sending heroin via drones from Pakistan. The arrest was made in Ferozepur during a special operation led by the Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) Ferozepur Range under the supervision of Special DGP and ADGP NTF Punjab, with AIG Sohan Lal Soni heading the team.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sadeep Singh alias Deepa (23), son of Darshan Singh, resident of village Jakhrawan, Police Station Sadar Ferozepur. From his possession, the police recovered 1.013 kg of heroin, a DJI Mavic 1 Pro drone, and a drone remote controller.
A case has been registered at NTF Police Station, SAS Nagar, under Sections 21 and 23 of the NDPS Act and Sections 10, 11, 12 of the Aircraft Act.
The ANTF is conducting a thorough investigation to ascertain the duration of this smuggling operation, the number of past incidents, and other individuals connected to this cross-border network. Police officials have reiterated that under the Punjab Government’s ongoing anti-drug campaign, strict surveillance is being maintained on such illegal activities. Strong action will continue against those involved in drug trafficking to ensure the state’s youth are protected from the menace of drugs.
