Chandigarh, July 25, 2025: The Punjab Cabinet has taken two major decisions during its latest meeting aimed at tightening agricultural regulations and easing government job eligibility for aspirants.
1. Harsh Penalties for Fake Seed Marketing:
In a significant move to protect farmers, the Cabinet has approved strict legal action against individuals or companies involved in marketing fake or substandard seeds.
Anyone found guilty of such marketing practices will now face imprisonment ranging from 2 to 10 years, ensuring better accountability and safeguarding agricultural productivity.
2. Age Limit Increased for Group D Recruitment:
In another key decision, the Cabinet has increased the upper age limit for Group D government job recruitment from 35 years to 37 years.
This change is expected to benefit thousands of job seekers who were previously ineligible due to age constraints.
