PFSC Member reviews welfare schemes under NFSA Act in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, July 25, 2025: To review the implementation of various schemes under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013, Chetan Prakash Dhaliwal, Member of the Punjab State Food Commission, visited Ferozepur district. During the visit, he also held a meeting with the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development).
Dhaliwal inspected the functioning of the Government Primary Middle School, School of Eminence in Ferozepur City, Anganwadi Centres in Ferozepur City and Cantonment, and the ration depot in Khushhal Singh Wala, Guru Ramdas Nagar.
During the school inspections, he reviewed the mid-day meal arrangements. He noted shortcomings in hygiene and improper storage of grains, along with slightly elevated TDS levels in the water. Instructions were issued on the spot to rectify these deficiencies, and officials were warned of action if such negligence persists in the future.
He further checked records at the Anganwadi Centres and found the arrangements at the Ferozepur Cantonment Centre satisfactory. At the ration depots, the distribution of wheat was underway. Dhaliwal interacted with beneficiaries and expressed satisfaction with the distribution process.
The beneficiaries were informed about the Punjab State Food Commission’s helpline number — 9876764545 — and advised that complaints related to NFSA schemes can also be submitted to the district’s Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development).
Concluding his visit, Dhaliwal thanked the officials present for their cooperation during the inspections.
