BSF holds Cycle Rally under to encourage youths to adopt drug-free lifestyle
Ferozepur, July 29, 2025: The Border Security Force (BSF) organized a Cycle Rally from JCP Hussainiwala to Sector HQ BSF Ferozepur under the aegis of Govt of India's initiative Fit India Campaign. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, raise awareness about health and wellness, and encourage youth in border areas to adopt a drug-free lifestyle.
The rally was flagged off at 0700 am from JCP Hussainiwala by Brig Vijai Singh Rana, VSM (Retd), DIG, Sector HQ BSF Ferozepur, in the presence of BSF officers, school children and reputed members of the local community.
Children and youth aged between 12 to 20 years from villages including Bhakhara, Bhane Wala, Jalloke, Faruwala, Gatti Matar and Raja Rai actively participated in this 21 km rally. Their enthusiasm and determination were truly inspiring. To acknowledge their spirited involvement, the DIG Brig Vijai Singh Rana felicitated all participants with prizes and words of encouragement.
Among the students who participated, a few names are: Daljit Singh, Mandeep Singh, Prince Rai, Randeep Singh, Sandeep Singh, Varinder Singh, Jasmeet Singh, and Pushpa Rani.
The rally featured a total of 200 BSF personnel and a large number of civilian participants from nearby border villages. The combined enthusiasm of BSF personnel and local residents made the event a memorable success.
This initiative not only promoted the values of fitness and health but also strengthened the bond between the BSF and local communities. It served as a powerful message of unity and joint commitment to building a healthier, more responsible, and drug-free society—especially in sensitive border regions.
The local police administration was instrumental in providing excellent traffic arrangements, ensuring the safe and seamless conduct of the rally. Their contribution was highly appreciated by all.
