EMPOWERING EDUCATION IN BORDER DISTRICT
MF awards Pratibha Girls Scholarship to 39 meritorious students
Ferozepur, July 31, 2025: The Pratibha Girls Scholarship Program initiated by Mayank Foundation (MF) has become a true blessing for young girls in the border district of Ferozepur. Under this initiative, 39 girls have successfully completed their graduation so far. Driven by a sense of social responsibility and a commitment to education, the Foundation provides financial assistance annually to meritorious and economically challenged girls.
With an aim to encourage higher education and promote self-reliance among girls, Mayank Foundation once again organized the scholarship award ceremony at the Bajwa Auditorium of DCM International School. This year too, 39 deserving students were selected to receive ₹10,000 per year for three years. The program, now in its sixth year, has made a significant impact on the lives of many girls.
The grand ceremony was graced by dignitaries including Red Cross Secretary Ashok Behl, Nand Kishore Gugnani, Advocate Shyam Sunder Monga, Dr. Aakash Aggarwal, Dr. Shweta Aggarwal, Dr. Sandeep Singh Sandha, and CDPO Satwant Singh. The event was presided over by Dr. Anirudh Gupta, Chairman of Mayank Foundation and noted educationist.

The stage was anchored by Prof. Sapna Badhwar. Special mention was made of the significant financial support provided by Kangaroo Group of Companies and KOHE Industries, Ludhiana, in making this project successful.
Project Coordinator Vinesh Galhotra explained that every year, 39 deserving girls are selected through a transparent process. Candidates are shortlisted based on outstanding performance in Class 10 and 12 board exams, followed by a written test and an evaluation of their family’s financial condition to ensure that support reaches the truly needy. Each selected student receives a total of ₹30,000 over three years.
Dr. Anirudh Gupta emphasized that despite being a border district, Ferozepur is making a name for itself in the fields of education and sports. He said that this scholarship program is a concrete step toward empowering girls and that the Foundation remains committed to bringing positive social change through such initiatives.
Mayank Foundation was established in memory of young student Mayank Sharma, who tragically lost his life in a road accident on October 7, 2017. To keep his spirit alive, his family and friends founded this organization.
