Chandigarh, September 17, 2025: The Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association has demanded the immediate registration of an FIR and arrest of advocates Ravneet Kaur and Simranjit Singh Blassi following a day of high drama inside the court complex, marked by allegations of misconduct, assault, and intimidation.
According to the Association, the episode began when Ravneet Kaur accused the Secretary of confiscating her bag and laptop in CR–1. She, accompanied by Simranjit Singh Blassi, allegedly stormed into the Executive Office and misbehaved with the Secretary and other members.
Matters escalated after Kaur’s request to list her matter in CR–1 was allowed despite objections from nearly 100 members. Upon exiting the courtroom, she allegedly created a ruckus, and, along with Blassi, physically assaulted Bar members.
The Bar Association further alleged that Blassi roamed the premises armed with a sword, attacking the Secretary and others, thereby creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation. Both individuals were eventually taken away by the police.
Condemning what it described as “serious misconduct,” the Bar expressed anger over the lack of immediate police action and warned that unless an FIR is registered and arrests are made without delay, it would be compelled to launch an indefinite strike.
