- Panchayat Samiti, Zila Parishad elections postponed

  Chandigarh, September 26, 2025: Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad polls have been postponed. These were scheduled to be held by October 5 but now these will be held by December 5, 2025.
  
  A notification in this regard was issued yesterday by Secretary Rural Development and Panchayat department.
  
  It is learnt that these polls have been deferred due to flood situation in the state. Last time these elections were held in September 2018.
