SBI extends helping hand to Blind Home, donates furniture under CSR
Ferozepur, October 17, 2025: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the State Bank of India (SBI) Business Development Branch, Regional Office Ferozepur, donated 25 almirahs and 32 chairs to the visually-impaired of Home for the Blind, Ferozepur.

The donation was handed over in the presence of SBI officer K.B. Singh and other officials. Introducing the institution, Advocate Ashwani Sharma, Secretary of the Home for the Blind, shared details about its functioning, supported by executive members Ramesh Sethi (Manager), Deepak Sharma, Harish Kumar, Avtar Singh (Supervisor), Puran Singh (Cashier) and Vipul Narang – A Yes Man for social services in the city.
Added here, the Home for the Blind is being run by the District Council for the Welfare of Handicapped, Ferozepur, established in 1954 by Dr Sadhu Chand Vinayak, philanthropist. Since then, hundreds of visually impaired persons have passed out of the institution and joined various organisations. Notably, in the past three years, around 25 inmates have secured Punjab government jobs as regular employees.
Speaking on the occasion, R.P.Singh, Chief Manager, and Jagmohan Singh, Abhishek Jail and Nikhil Garg, expressed their appreciation for the institution, stating, “We feel delighted to visit this home and are overwhelmed by the musical talent of the inmates, most of whom are school or college-going. Besides the bank’s support, we will also contribute personally towards the development of this institution.”
The cultural programme by the visually-impaired, featuring songs, mimicry, and violin performances, was the highlight of the event.
Ramesh Sethi, Manager, extended gratitude to SBI for its support and presented a token of love to the visiting officers in appreciation of their gesture.
